Pakeezah 1971
















Pakeezah is a 1972 Indian movie, Meena Kumari's central performance is undoubtedly one of the finest of her career, followed closely by Sahib Bibi aur Ghulam and Phool Aur Pathar. It is well remembered by generations for its touching story of a courtesan, and for its melodious songs by Ghulam Mohammed. It was the magnum opus of the director, Kamal Amrohi who was known for his perfectionism. This is one of the most beautifully crafted Indian moviethat has ever been made. The songs "chalte chalte" and "chale dildar chalo" are the best songs in my opinion ever been produced and sung in Bollywood.
