The movie stars Shashi Kapoor, Hema Malini, Ashok Kumar, Nirupa Roy, Premnath, Aruna Irani, Helen, Asrani, Sujit Kumar and Madan Puri.The movie is a fulltoo family drama revolving around expressions and family turgidity. Movie starts with Kishorilal Kapoor (Ashok Kumar) who lives a simple lifestyle along with his wife named Lajjo (Nirupa Roy), his son named Prakash (Sujit Kumar) and a daughter named Geeta (Hema Malini). Both Kishorilal and Geeta do hard work so that thoier son, Prakash can get good education so that he can study in America. They also hope him to study hard and repay their loans that the family has taken. Prakash does go to America and return India to become Kishorilal’s boss. Later he married with Reena (Aruna Irani) who has a wealthy background. Later Geeta meets with a handsome young guy named Ranjit (Shashi Kapoor) and tells Reena that they both are in love.Thus, the story goes on.The movie was average at Box office.
Music of the movie is given by Laxmikant Pyarelal. Songs are sung in the beautiful voices of Manna Dey, Mahendra Kapoor, Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar.
